scott montyScott Monty, the social media guru who managed Ford Motor Company's global digital and multimedia communications, has left the automaker.

"After nearly six years with the company, I will be pursuing something else - the subject of another announcement that I'll make soon," he said in a post on his blog.

Monty joined Ford in 2008 from the digital agency crayon and quickly became the face and voice of the company on social media, particularly Twitter. He played a key role in its campaign to launch the Ford Fiesta car, which saw the automaker give new cars to a group of 100 "influencers," who created content around their experiences with the vehicle.

He previously worked in the healthcare marketing space.
