Erin Pelton, who was spokeswoman for the US mission to the United Nations, has joined Mercury in New York as a managing director.
Pelton, a former Foreign Service officer, led communications and PA in the UN post under Ambassadors Susan Rice and Samantha Power over the past two years. She was previously communications director and assistant secretary for the White House National Security Council.
Mercury president Kirill Goncharenko said Penton's diplomatic career will be an asset to the Omnicom-owned firm's burgeoning international operation.
At the State Dept., she served in PA roles in Mexico City, Saudi Arabia and the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
