webmdEveryday Health, the publicly traded digital health media company, is relying on ICR for its PR and IR defense as it faces a trademark infringement and false advertising suit from rival WebMD.

WedMD Health Corp. filed the suit on June 19 in federal court in New York, seeking a permanent injunction and claiming EH uses the WebMD trademark on web pages, search adverting to "deceive and mislead consumers" into believing they are visiting WebMD properties.

EH contends the claims are without merit and related to "only a small portion of the company's search engine marketing efforts" and a "very immaterial" part of its traffic and revenue.

ICR managing directors Denise Garcia and Bo Park are advising and providing media and investor relations services for EH, where Melanie Goldey is SVP of strategic planning and IR. The firm was hired to handle EH's $100M IPO in March. Jennifer Perciballi, who was VP of PR, is no longer with the company.

Both EH (Brooklyn-founded) and WebMD are based in New York.

Risa Fisher (IR) and Michael Heinley (comms.) are on the case for WebMD.
