leslie dachLeslie Dach, the Edelman, Wal-Mart and Clinton White House veteran, has been named to a new senior post at the Dept. of Health and Human Services to advise Secretary Sylvia Burwell.

Dach, who stepped down from the VP of corporate affairs post at Wal-Mart in 2013 after seven years, will be senior counselor to Burwell, handling policy challenges, external engagement and strategic initiatives, including the ramp-up to Obamacare's second enrollment period in November.

Said Burwell: "Leslie's experience, which spans the business, government, and civil society sectors, will further enhance our ability to deliver impact for the American people."

He was executive VP and vice chair at Edelman, where he led the Wal-Mart account, after serving as a Clinton administration aide, including special advisor to the chief of staff during the Kosovo conflict.

Dach was senior advisor for communication for the Democratic National Committee and the Kerry for President Campaign in 2004.
