MDC Partners has acquired a majority stake in Hunter PR, the New York-based firm noted for its food and nutrition capabilities.
The firm ranked No. 20 among O'Dwyer's 2013 independent shops with fees of $18.4M.
CEO Miles Nadal said the 25-year-old Hunter's "scaled expertise in marketing communications, media relations, events, and social media, combined with the team's heritage of entrepreneurialism, make the team an ideal fit for MDC."
The 100-member strong firm, which has offices in Miami, San Francisco and Seattle counts Kraft Foods, E&J Gallo, Diageo, Smithfield, 3M and Tabasco Pepper Sauce among clients.
Hunter partners Grace Leong, Jon Lyon and Jason Winocour join MDC, parent company of Kwittken, Sloane & Co., Luntz Global and Allison+Partners.
