maineMaine has called for proposals for its public health communications account, encompassing social marketing, social media and partnerships that tackle issues like tobacco, obesity and substance abuse.

The Pine Tree State's Dept. of Health and Human Service wants a lead agency for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention to guide public awareness, education, tobacco counter-marketing and other outreach.

Maine gets from $45M-50M per year under the 1998 tobacco industry settlement to fund health programs, including the PR assignment encompassed in the RFP.

An initial one-year contract will carry two option years.

Proposals are due Sept. 23. View the RFP (link).
