CVS Health has named Mary Langowski executive VP for strategy, policy and market development effective Oct. 14.
She will assume responsibilities for government affairs and policy development for CVS on the federal and state levels.
Langowski joins from DLA Piper, where she chaired its healthcare policy & regulatory practice and co-chaired the food/beverage sector.
She has Capitol Hill experience from a stint with Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin, who is stepping down.
Langowski also was chief policy advisor at The Hawkeye State's Dept. of Public Health during the administration of Gov. Tom Vilsack.
CVS, which has 7,700 retail outlets and a pharmacy benefits management plan with 65M members, is based in Woonsocket, RI. The compmany made a splash this month by dropping tobacco products.
