dave denherderDave DenHerder, a former Burson-Marsteller US CEO, has joined FP1 Strategies to build the Republican shop's public affairs capability.

His 20-years of communications experience has spanned the automotive, healthcare, energy, corporate and political sectors.

Prior to taking the US CEO slot, DenHerder ran B-M's Direct Impact grassroots unit and served as regional campaign manager for Bush-Cheney 2004.

DenHerder did a stint in the Bush/Cheney White House as liaison and special assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Labor.

He has rejoined fellow Bush-Cheney operatives and FP1 founding partners Terry Nelson, the campaign's national political director, and Jon Downs, executive director of two target states.

Danny Diaz, ex-communications director for the Republican National Committee, is the other founding partner.

Nelson said DenHerder's "years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, grassroots mobilization and political management" will bolster FP1's PA unit.
