matthew goldenMatthew Golden, associate VP for communications at New Jersey Institute of Technology, has moved to Arcadia University outside of Philadelphia as VP for its newly formed university relations unit.

In a surprise move, Arcadia's board of trustees last year fired president Carl Oxholm during spring break without giving a reason. Vice president Nicolette DeVille Christensen took the reins as COO.

Golden heads the private, 4,000-student school's internal and external comms., government and community rels., marketing and brand straegy, in addition to his duties as spokesman.

Prior to NJIT, Golden was associate VP for comms. and college relations at The College of New Jersey, communications officer for the NJ Treasury Dept., and assist. dir. of university relations at Kean Univ. in the Garden State.

Laura Baldwin is chief marketing and communications officer at Arcadia.
