Kate Hansen, communications director for the tech sector lobbying group FWD.us, has moved to Global Strategy Group as VP, comms., in the firm's Washington office.
Hansen will service the FWD.us account at GSG.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and other prominent tech sector execs set up FWD.us in 2013 to push immigration reform to benefit the industry. The group's president, Joe Green, resigned in September, reportedly under pressure from its board as the campaign to overhaul immigration laws stalled in Congress.
Hansen was previously communications director for the Democratic Governors Association under Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and held the same role for the office of Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.).
Todd Schulte, executive director of FWD.us, is serving as acting president.
