dan scandlingDan Scandling, veteran Hill aide most recently chief of staff and press secretary for Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.), has moved to Ogilvy Washington as senior VP for corporate and public affairs.

Scandling spent the past 25 years in Congress, first as chief of staff and press sec. to Democrat-turned-Republican Rep. Herb Bateman (Va.) and then as Bateman's top aide through the Congressman's retirement last year.

Ogilvy North American CEO Robert Mathias praised Scandling's "understanding of the Hill, Washington media, and reputation management." The firm said he will work with clients to increase their media profiles and reputations in the DC market, and handle social media advocacy.

Scandling started out in journalism as general manager and editor for The Caroline Progress before moving to PR in the late 1980s as PR officer for the Virginia Housing Development Authority.
