Healthcare PR giant WCG has added Gary Karr as group director in its San Francisco office.
He was chief spokesperson for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services during the high-profile launch of the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit introduced by President Bush II.
Karr spent more than a dozen years in the Washington public policy scene, most recently supporting an Aetna Inc. operation.
He handled PR for AdvaMed, medical tech trade group, and worked five years in Edelman's DC office.
Karr is an alum of former South Carolina Governor David Beasley press shop.
