Newsweek's Twitter account was hacked earlier today by a group calling itself the "Cyber Caliphate," which is affiliated with ISIS.
During the 14-minute attack, the site's profile was changed to a masked man with the black standard flag and messages in support of cyber-attacks against the US and allies.
Kira Bindrim, Newsweek managing editor, issued a statement to apologize for any offensive materials that may have been sent from the account.
She said the newsroom is adopting tighter secuity measures.
