Chassix, the $1.4B automotive component supplier, is relying on Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher for PR support in bankruptcy.

The Southfield, Mich.-based company, which supplies brake, chassis and powertrain components to GM and BMW, among others, has locked up $250M in financing as it navigates Chapter 11 and restructures. It is owned by Platinum Equity and filed for bankruptcy protection March 12 after missing interest payments lower earnings.

Joele Frank partner Michael Freitag and managing director Nicholas Lamplough are counseling Chassix.

The company counts more than 4,500 employees.
