Stan Alleyne, chief communications officer of Minneapolis Public Schools, has joined Tunheim in Minneapolis to lead its education and non-profit business.
Alleyne is a former TV and print reporter from North Carolina who shifted to education PR in the Tarheel State in the early 2000s. He moved to Minneapolis in 2008 to direct communications for the 35,000-student district.
Tunheim CEO Kathy Tunheim cited Alleyne's ability to navigate large organizations and systems as key to the hire. He oversaw an eight-person communications staff at MPS.
Tunheim handled Start Early's MinneMinds campaign for early childhood education in the state in 2013-14, as well as assignments for the Minneapolis Public Schools, Augsburg College, St. Mary's University and other schools.
