paul mynersPaul Myners, who chaired Huntsworth during its "turbulent" year capped by the departure of CEO Peter Chadlington and plummeting profit, has been tapped as chair of Edelman's UK operation. He'll advise UK chief Ed Williams, the former BBC communications director.

Myners departed Huntsworth, which is now headed by Hill & Knowlton alum Paul Taaffe, in November. He served in Gordon Brown's Labour government as financial services secretary from 2008 to 2010.

Myners also was CEO of investment fund manager Gartmore Group and chaired Guardian Media Group and Marks & Spencer.

He'll continue as chairman of the London School of Economics & Political Science.

Nigel Whittaker, who left the firm in 2002, was Edelman's last UK chairman.
