brian tannerBrian Tanner, who led post-bankruptcy IR for Hawaiian Telecom, has moved to Overseas Shipholding Group, the publicly traded oil tanker operator that emerged from Chapter 11 protection last year.

Tanner serves as VP of IR and corporate communications for the New York-based marine transporter of crude oil and petroleum products. Prior to Hawaiian Telecon, he was an analyst for Straszheim Global Advisors, BDA China and Merrill Lynch, among others.

OSG posted revenues of $761.4M, down 0.3%, for fiscal 2014 with a net loss of $152.2M. The company, which currently counts a fleet of 81 vessels, filed for bankruptcy protection in 2012 as it was squeezed by the US energy boom, competition from new ships coming to the market, an IRS dispute and internal probe of its financial statements.

Abernathy MacGregor Group supported OSG's communications in Chapter 11.
