Don ImusDon Imus 's television program on Fox Business Network will end May 29 after a six-year run. The New York Daily News reported the break-up has been in works since January and the spilt is amicable.

Fox News Channel anchor Greta Van Susteren blasted Imus as "bitter and mean-spirited" for his attack on former White House press secretary Dana Perino. Imus said Perino ducked his questions and copped an "attitude" during her appearance on his program.

The break-up comes as Imus and wife Deirdre plan to spend more time at their Texas ranch due to Imus' respiratory problems and the rodeo career of son, Wyatt. The Texas outpost does not have a TV studio as the Imus' New Mexico ranch has.

Imus will continue on the radio, where he began the "Imus in the Morning" program in 1971.

Imus broke into TV in 1996 with MSNBC, a run that ended after his snide remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team.
