Joanna Massey, former SVP of corporate communications and publicity for Discovery's children's cable network Hub Network, has moved to film and TV studio Lionsgate as VP of corporate comms. and IR.

joanna maseyMassey's role encompasses corporate, investor and theatrical PR as she reports to both SVP of IR and executive comms. Peter Wilkes and EVP of worldwide publicity Julie Fontaine, based in Santa Monica, Calif.

Lionsgate, the studio behind the blockbuster "Hunger Games" franchise, pitches itself as a "global content leader" and is branching out into location-based entertainment and video games, among other avenues. Fiscal 2015 revenue was $2.4B, including nearly $580M from TV production ("Mad Men," "Nurse Jackie," "Nashville").

"With Lionsgate's evolution into a global content leader, she brings needed depth to our staff and will be invaluable in helping to articulate corporate strategic initiatives and communicate the strengths of our individual businesses," Wilkes said of Massey.

She was previously senior VP of media relations for UPN and SVP/comms. for CBS, where she handled its digital media ventures.
