Sepp Blatter, one of the most powerful men in the sports world, today resigned the presidency of FIFA in the aftermath of a corruption scandal that has rocked worldwide soccer.
The 79-year-old executive, who was handily re-elected to another term four days ago, says he has nothing to do with any possible wrongdoing.
Blatter admitted FIFA "needs a profound restructuring and wants a new election to determine who will lead FIFA through its revamp.
