maurie perlMaurie Perl, the legendary Conde Nast PR pro who stepped down two years ago, has returned as senior VP-communications and marketing at the New York Stem Cell Foundation.

She has worked with NYC media royalty such as Katie Couric, Peter Jennings, Tina Brown, Barbara Walters and the Newhouse family.

Perl had been consulting with the Foundation, which will throw its 10th anniversary gala in October at the spanking new Moynihan Station (the former James A. Farley post office) in Manhattan.

She did more than 20 years at Conde Nast, leaving as senior VP and chief communications officer. Early in her career, Perl promoted Vanity Fair and New Yorker.

Pearl told WWD that she joined the Foundation to "do something different and learn something new." She reports to Susan Solomon, co-founder and CEO of the organization.
