Greg Panagos, a top IR and communications exec for Transocean through the 2010 BP Gulf oil spill, is heading to publicly traded water and wastewater utility American Water Works Company as VP of IR.
Panagos managed IR, media relations and employee comms. over four years at Houston-based Transocean, including through the explosion and aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig it operated for BP. He later was senior VP of IR and comms. for Toronto-based Barrick Gold Corp.
The 129-year-old AWWC, based in Voorhees, N.J., recorded $3B in revenues for 2014 with net income of $423M. Panagos takes over for Edward Vallejo, who was upped to VP of financial strategy, planning and decision support earlier this year.
Earlier stints included IR and comms. roles with Noble Energy and Pennzoil.
