robert traynhamRobert Traynham, a Washington pundit and PR staffer, has moved to the Bipartisan Policy Center as VP of communications for the think tank.

The BPC was set up in 2007 by ex-Senate majority leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole and George Mitchell.

Traynham, charged with developing a strategic comms. plan for the BPC through the 2016 election cycle, spent the last eight years at Comcast, appearing on its Washington-based political programming, including Roll Call TV.

He was previously director of federal government media for Walmart and chief of staff and comms. director for the Senate Republican Conference. The Philadelphia native is a former press aide to Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.).

BPC earlier this month brought in Tabassum Zakaria, a longtime Reuters White House and national security correspondent, to advise its communications team.
