Notorious drug lord Joaquin Guzman Loera, who broke out of a Mexican maximum security prison on Saturday, has delivered a priceless PR gift to entertainer and Republican presidential wannabe Donald Trump.

chapo, trumpThe great escape via a mile-long tunnel is a devastating blow to Mexico president Enrique Pena Neto, who hailed El Chapo's year ago arrest as evidence that his crackdown on gangs involved in the long-running drug war was on track. It's time for Plan B, Enrique.

Trump, who entered the GOP race with a racist rant against Mexicans, unleashed a barrage of tweets that claim El Chapo's breakout shows Mexico and its security forces are riddled with corruption.

In other words, he was right about Mexico.

The master promoter tweeted July 12: "Mexico's biggest drug lord escapes from jail. Unbelievable corruption and USA is paying the price. I told you so!"

Two more tweets: "Mexico's biggest drug lord escapes from jail. Unbelievable corruption and USA is paying the price. I told you so!" and "Trump, however, would kick his ass!"

An individual claiming to be El Chapo's son took the bait, posting a tweet vowing retribution against The Donald.

That was music to Trump's ears, who says he's contacted the FBI to investigate threats made against him.

And of course Trump refuses to stand down, claiming he's fighting for the future of this country. He told TMZ he won't be intimidated by threats.

Love him or hate him, Trump is a master at seizing the moment. He latched on to huge story and made it his own.

Trump's tirade and petition to the FBI comes just ahead of the first GOP debate next month.

The New Yorker also stole thunder from Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's announcement today that he's running for the Republican presidential nomination. Scott, who?

El Chapo, who also is PR savvy, needs to give his "son" a good talking to.
