Americans United for ChangeAmericans back President Obama's Iranian nuclear deal by a solid 54 to 38 percent margin, according to a poll released today by the left-leaning Americans United for Change operation.

Republican politicos, reinforcing their position as being out-of-touch with reality, stand shoulder-to-shoulder in opposition to President Obama's landmark foreign relations initiative.

The poll found little political risk for GOP candidates bucking the party line. Sixty percent of the surveyed say a vote for the agreement would have little impact on future votes for their Congressional representative. The party though would rather stick a finger in Obama's eye than accede to the wishes of the people.

AUfC released the findings on the same day that seven former US Ambassadors to Israel and State Dept. officials sent a letter to Congress to urge support for the nuke deal.

Noting that no agreement is either perfect or riskless, the group wrote, "We believe with this agreement, however, the risks will be much higher for the US and Israel. We see no fatal flaws that should call for the rejection of this agreement and have not heard any viable alternatives from those who oppose the implementation" of the pact.

Meanwhile, political grandstanding continues. Republican presidential wannabe Mike Huckabee did not cover himself in glory by saying the Obama deal is so flawed it will "take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven."

Huckabee proves once again he's more of a pitchman for his books and assorted plugged items than a serious presidential candidate. He makes Donald Trump appear statesman-like. On second thought.....
