WPP’s GroupM, the global media investment management group, has appointed Brian Lesser to CEO, for business in the U.S. and Canada.

Lesser succeeds Kelly Clark, who will be transitioning to a new advisory role focused on strategic initiatives with clients and specialty businesses.

In concert with these changes, Rob Norman, GroupM Global Chief Digital Officer, adds the role of Chairman, North America, to his responsibilities.

Prior to joining Group M, Lesser was Global CEO at Xaxis, one of the world's largest programmatic media and technology platform.

"Brian will be a huge part of our future and his appointment reflects our values and ambition, as well as WPP's drive to achieve 40 percent to 45 percent of revenues from digital in five years," said Dominic Proctor, global president of GroupM, in a statement. "Our future is being built on tech, data, talent and scale.”

GroupM's assists WPP's media agencies, which include PR shops Cohn & Wolfe, Hill + Knowlton Strategies and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, with content creation, sports, digital, finance, proprietary tool development and other business-marketing capabilities.
