Omnicom global PR unit Porter Novelli has appointed Verónica González to lead the agency’s Mexico health and wellness team.

González will lead the development of Porter Novelli’s health and wellness practice in Latin America, and will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s work with health and wellness brands in that region. She will work out of Porter Novelli’s Mexico City office and will report to Porter Novelli Mexico partner and managing director Sandra Kleinburg,

González, who began her career as a reporter, joins Porter Novelli from JeffreyGroup, where she was group director and responsible for high-profile clients such as Mead Johnson Nutrition, Merck, Novartis and Johnson & Johnson. Previously, she spent more than a dozen years at Cohn & Wolfe, where she was senior vice president and practice director of that agency’s nutrition and wellbeing practice, which she founded. Prior to that she was spokesperson for Mexico City-based nonprofit association Fundación Dianui, which promotes child nutrition in Mexico.

In a statement, Kleinburg said the agency’s Mexico health and wellness practice is “growing steadily,” and the addition of González to its team “reflects the increased focus we are placing on this important and fast-growing part of our business.”
