PMK-BNCInterpublic owned marketing and communications firm PMK-BNC, which has maintained a partnership with Audi of America since 2006, will stay on board as agency of record for the luxury automotive brand.

Los Angeles-based PMK-BNC, which specializes in popular culture and entertainment PR, will head U.S. PR across all media relations and communications channels for the Herndon, VA-headquartered car company, which will include automotive and corporate communications, technology and innovation, content creation and influencer programming.

The announcement follows a recent Audi of America agency review process, where incumbent agency PMK-BNC was retained among several competing firms. PMK-BNC’s relationship with Audi goes back a decade, when the automotive manufacturer in 2006 chose the agency to guide the launch of its premier Audi Forum. PMK-BNC was later appointed Audi AOR for the purpose of raising the band’s profile in the U.S. luxury market, coinciding with the launch of its Audi R8 supercar.

In a statement, Audi of America chief communications officer Jeri Ward said that “PMK-BNC has been a critical partner in positioning the brand to the right audiences at the right time," and that the agency “has proven again that they have the most effective formula for Audi.”

Audi of America parent company, German car manufacturer Audi AG, is owned by Europe’s largest automaker, Volkswagen Group. That company in September was embroiled in an emissions scandal that has continued to haunt its reputation. The Audi Group in 2015 manufactured more than 1,800,000 vehicles worldwide, and broke U.S. sales records for the sixth year in a row.

The Audi of America account will be fielded in both PMK-BNC’s New York and Los Angeles offices.
