Nerlich begins her new role in April.

Nerlich joins MDC Partners from Grey Canada, where she served as president and CEO and led that global advertising agency’s Canadian network. Prior to Grey, which she joined in 2011, Nerlich was President of Lowe Roche, which she joined in 2008 and oversaw that ad agency's operational and financial duties. She was also previously senior VP and executive managing director of ad agency BBDO Canada, where she worked for more than 11 years.

At MDC, Nerlich will support and lead marketing and business development initiatives across the holding company’s network of Canadian agencies. She will report to chief marketing and business development officer Bob Kantor and executive VP and chief operating officer Andre Coste.

Kantor in a statement said Nerlich "has achieved the highest levels of success in our industry by taking the helm of an esteemed group of agencies and accelerating them to win an enviable list of clients while creating award-winning work.”

MDC, which owns more than 50 advertising, PR, branding, digital, and event marketing agencies worldwide, in February posted fourth quarter revenue gains of 5.6 percent to nearly $360 million, contributing to what chairman and CEO Scott Kauffman characterized as a "strong year” for the conglom.
