Stubhub, the eBay-owned online marketplace where consumers buy and sell tickets for sports, concerts, theater and festivals, has hired Washington, D.C.-based government relations and strategic communications firm Franklin Square Group, LLC for Capitol Hill representation on consumer and computer industry issues.

StubHubFranklin Square Group will represent San Francisco-based Stubhub on issues related to ongoing innovations in the online consumer-to-consumer ticket sales marketplace.

A five-member Mercury team will handle the Stubhub account, including co-founder Matthew Tanielian, who previously served as counsel to Senator Robert Torricelli (D-NJ) and subcommittee chief counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee; co-founder Joshua Ackil, former aide to House Democratic leader Richard Gephardt and Office of Legislative Affairs staff director to President Clinton; Kara Calvert Campbell, former legislative assistant to Senate Mike Enzi (R-WY); Brian Peters, former press secretary to Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA); and Ryan Triplette, former counsel and chief intellectual property counsel under Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Arlen Specter (PA).
