In a statement, Time Inc. executive VP Evelyn Webster said that in the new role, Long will oversee sales, marketing, live events and development of new products and revenue streams for the three popular Time Inc. brands. Long will also work to accelerate revenue diversification and will oversee the company's Fortune conference business.

Long was named publisher of Time magazine in 2015, succeeding group publisher Jed Hartman, who left that position to become chief revenue officer of The Washington Post. She also launched Time’s in-house creative studio, Stitch, and led a revenue expansion of its signature Time 100 Gala.

Prior to serving as publisher, Long was previously Time executive director, west coast, and also served as Time magazine’s Los Angeles multi media director, as well as the publication’s Mid-Atlantic advertising director. She began her career as sales manager of Time's San Francisco operations.

Webster in the statement said that as publisher, Long and her team “grew revenue across digital, video, native, live events and, most notably, print.”
