James Walker, former social media and digital strategy development head at Cohn & Wolfe, has moved to the corporate communications practice of New York-based independent PR giant Ruder Finn, where he now holds the title of group vice president, social engagement and digital content.

Walker held the digital and corporate VP title at WPP’s Cohn & Wolfe unit for more than two years. Prior to that, he served as global digital manager at charitable environmental organization the Nature Conservancy. He was formerly a social media strategist at APCO Worldwide and an assistant account executive at healthcare and life sciences agency Spectrum.

At RF, James will lead social and digital strategies in the agency’s U.S. corporate practice and will work closely with Ruder Finn's full-service digital practice RFI Studios. He’ll be stationed in New York and will report to EVP and U.S. corporate practice head Keith Hughes.
