arthursolomon (Jul. 15, 2013): Joe - Maybe it's time for the US not to get involved in every country's internal problems and wars. History shows that when an outsider country gets involved in internal disputes it doesn't work out well for the outsiders. Examples: U.S. in Cuba, Vietnam, China, and the two current wars that seem to never end, despite what the president says. Russia seems to have learned the lesson in Afghanistan. Maybe Obama is learning from the same history book.
Thinkman2 (Jul. 15, 2013): Good points, BUT one question or aspect not dealt with almost anywhere is where is the Republican leadership on this major international matter? Bad enough the UN seems totally invisible and/or impotent at a time that would ordinarily demand some concern of a world body.
Brian M. (Jul. 15, 2013): An impossible situation. Call it a coup and the little influence/ties we had will vanish. Keeping shipping arms and money and we could be propping up an unfriendly government.
