The Rozelle Award recognizes NFL club PR staffs that consistently strive for excellence in their dealings and relationships with the media. It is named for former NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle, who served in the position from 1960-89. Rozelle broke into the NFL as PR director for the Los Angeles Rams from 1952-55, returning to the team as general manager in 1957.

As NFL commissioner, he was credited with using his PR background to build relationships with the media during a period of unprecedented growth for the league.

The other nominees for the 2017 Rozelle Award were the PR staffs from the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
