Why does it always have to be about Donald Trump?

Aren’t you angry that the tweeter-in-chief plans to visit Texas tomorrow to apparently showcase his Administration’s concern for Houston and East Texas, which is suffering from the one of the worst natural disasters in US history?

Tropical Storm Harvey has so far killed five people, displaced tens of thousands, stranded 6.6M people in the Houston area, destroyed billions of property and dealt a severe blow to the nation’s petrochemical business.

Tropical storm Harvey

Conditions are getting worse. The National Hurricane Center warns that Harvey is gearing up for another round of rain that could add 20 inches to the already 30 that has already fallen.

And the Trump Train circus is still scheduled for Texas, adding an unnecessary distraction to the chaos in the Lone Star State.

The Clueless One already has heaped way premature praise on Brock Long, Federal Emergency Agency administrator, for his relief work. “You are doing a great job-the world is watching! Be safe,” tweeted Trump during the weekend. Long's job has hardly begun.

You got to believe that even Trump is aware that George W. Bush praised his FEMA chief Michael Brown with “Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job” at the beginning of Hurricane Katrina cleanup in 2005. Katrina drowned New Orleans and left more than 1,800 people dead in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Long reinforced the Brown connection, praising the National Weather Service for doing a “heck of a job.” Pure crazy town!

Bush’s praise for Brown, who ultimately resigned in disgrace, symbolized the incompetence of his presidency and marked the beginning of the end of his administration.

Texas and the nation will feel the effects of Harvey for a number of years.

The same could be said of the Trump Administration.
