The Episcopal Church yesterday supported keeping the federal “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” program. It takes no stand on cell towers in church spires.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and 120 other U.S. bishops signed a full page ad in the Sept. 20 New York Times on page A11 demanding that President Trump and Congress continue the program that gives civic rights to children brought to the U.S. by their families, a program known as DACA.

Cost of a full page ad in NYT’s national edition is $150,000.

AT&T, T-Mobile and other telecoms, meanwhile, have been seeking to rent church spires for cellphone antennas since the 1990s and evidence is that many, including many of the 6,550 Episcopal Churches, have signed long term contracts at $25K to $50K yearly.

DKG Real Estate, which has been helping AT&T, T-Mobile and other telecoms to lease church steeples for cellphone arrays since the 1990s, says there’s a “reasonably good chance that the church you pass hosts a cell tower.” It dismisses health claims on its website.

T-Mobile, in pitching the East Quogue Fire Dept. in 2011, offered to pay the hamlet $45,000 to construct a tower and a yearly payment of $52,800 for 24 antennas in the tower ($2,200 per antenna). After public hearings and discussion, East Quogue rejected the proposal.

Episcopal Church Won’t Ask Parishes

Neva Rae Fox, of the office of communications, Episcopal Church h.q. in New York, in response to an email asking for the Church’s position on cell towers in Church spires, answered: “The Episcopal Church does not have a policy; all decisions are made on a local level.”

We will get no help from the Church on this matter although it could easily poll its 6,550 parishes with about 1.8 million members.

High Radiation from St. Marks

One Episcopal Church that acknowledges signing a deal with AT&T and T-Mobile is St. Marks of Westhampton Beach, New York.

Using an Acoustimeter, which measures radiation, we found that it was near the top of the danger zone when we stood across the street from the church--No. 14 on a scale that went from No. 1 (0.02 volts per meter) to No. 15 (6.00 volts). No. 14 was 4.5 volts per meter.

We also visited the Westhampton Country Club across the street. Most rooms were below the danger level but one was at that level. Club officers and staff have been asked to email our report on this dangerous situation to the members but so far have not responded. Institutions and government have been perplexed, befuddled, when confronted with this issue. They appear to be awaiting a directive from the federal government. The position of the Federal Communications Commission is that radiation is harmless unless it heats bodily tissues.

Foster Raps Cell Towers in Churches, Synagogues

Susan Foster, medical researcher who has helped firefighters block cell towers on firehouses, said “Churches, synagogues and mosques are playing with the lives of people and not doing their research.

“For the time it takes to read Corinthians, they could delve into the research in the BioInitiative Report rather than taking the word of a telecom salesperson who gets them to sign a 20-year lease without any liability coverage in case parishioners or neighbors become ill. Ministers, priests, rabbis and mullahs are putting the financial reserves of their churches at risk, but most importantly, they are risking the lives and well-being of the flock they are charged with taking care of.”

Children at church schools are especially at risk, she said.” They are bathed in powerful radiation up to eight hours a day, five days a week. Shame on the churches for ignoring the science.”

President Ronald Reagan crippled EMF research when he defunded the wireless radiation research arm of the Environmental Protection Agency in the early 1980s, she said.

Flynn Documents Dangers

Jerry Flynn, retired captain in the Canadian Army where he specialized in electronic activity, has pleaded with Canadian officials to recognize the health problems caused by excessive pulsed, microwave radiation in the environment.

Earlier this month he wrote Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other officials as follows:

“Fifty years ago, autism, ADHD, leukemia and many other cancers, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, ALS, suicides, depression, birth defects, Tinnitus (ringing in the ears), other neurological diseases, and diseases of the central nervous system and immune system were seldom heard of in Canada.

“Today many of them are disease epidemics - especially cancers and autism! Yet no health authority and no cancer agency anywhere even mentions EMFs being a possible culprit?

“Likewise, 50 years ago, it was unheard of for schools to require 'special-needs' teachers; whereas today it seems to be the norm! Informed people know that today's insanity is caused by the U.S.-driven corporate push for profit - at any price, including our health!

“History will show that we are living in the darkest, ugliest, most unbelievable - and perhaps even the last - chapter in Canada's history as a nation!”
