The state's Office of Tourism, based in Baton Rouge, said it will hire a single agency or multiple firms to handle three components of the account: creative, PR and social/digital. Firms are invited to pitch one or multiple components.

Current budget for fiscal 2013-14 is $6.5M.

The tourism entity expects to award a one-year contract starting July 1, 2014 with two year-long extensions possible.

The Pelican State currently uses the "Pick your passion" tagline and the louisianatravel.com website.

The state last reviewed the account in 2011, when it chose four firms – Deveney Communication and Williams Creative Group (PR), Trumpet (creative) and Miles Media (digital).

Proposals are due Nov. 21.
