Howard Fineman is leaving his global editor slot at HuffPost for NBCNews.com, where he will report on political and national developments from Washington.
In an email to HuffPost staffers, Fineman noted his long-time pundit relationship with NBC on broadcast and cable.
“Back when I was a Newsweek political correspondent, I was one of the first print reporters to file to msnbc.com and even wrote a weekly column there,” he wrote. NBCNews.com is now NBC’s digital/social/video news platform.
Fineman thanked HuffPost management and staffers for “having made a home for me at one of the most collegial, creative, ambitious, incisive, principled and (are you listening, Donald?) patriotic news operations in the world.”
Ariana Huffington recruited Fineman in 2010.
