Michael Moore posted this video Jan. 25 of a meeting between former Cigna corporate communications exec Wendell Potter and the family of a girl who died after a liver transplant was initially denied coverage by Cigna. It was set up by consumer advocates.
Potter, who enters the clip at the 10:20 mark, quit his Cigna post and became an oft-quoted advocate for healthcare reform over the past year.
"We're not talking about evil people," he says. "I say that the system is evil."
Potter, who is eventually brought to tears, tells the distraught family that it was their daughter's death that led to his resignation from Cigna.
