Top executives of About.com, NBC Universal's iVillage, and Forrester Research tackled social media's place in their organizations, as well as policies for staffers, among other topics in a panel led by Digital Influence Group's Glenn Engler.
Michele Mitchell, VP of audience development and retention for NBCU's iVillage who had a similar role at Reader's Digest, dicussed the portal's moderation of content and readers, as well as where social media fits into the organization.
David Cooperstein of Forrester Research talked about social media policies for staffers, noting that the company's policies required changes after employees produced too much content:
