Media trainer TJ Walker said TBS corporate communications did a much better job of handling the Conan O'Brien announcement, which displaced established late-nite host George Lopez, than the PR team at NBC managed with the Jay Leno-O'Brien showdown.
While O'Brien's arrival on the cable network pushed Lopez back to midnight, Walker said TBS enlisted Lopez to lobby O'Brien to take the slot -- a contrast to the contentious NBC "transition."
