New York-based Maloney & Fox wanted to mark the firm's 14th year with something besides branded coffee mugs or frisbees, so it produced an animated clip featuring septuagenarian, social media-savvy intern, Aunt Lo, and an original tune, "Embrace That New, New, New Thing," penned by songwriter (and M&F staffer) Lauren Zettler.
The firm calls the piece "part Jib-Jab, part 'South Park,'" and said the first 14 viewers who send in a self-addressed, stamped envelope with feedback on the clip in 14 words or less with receive some agency swag.
Details are at M&F's Facebook page.
Here are the lyrics:
“Embrace That New, New, New Thing”
We've carved on walls, signaled with smoke
Written letters
We called, we spoke
Dialed it up hi-speed or in person
communication's key no matter the version
We found thousands of followers, friends and fans
who like, poke, retweet, link and check-in
There will always be a new tech-kid in class
But we'll forever be mayor of connections that last
Digital vernacular it all sounds the same
Tweet, tweet, link, dig, poke, share, like, ping
(gotta get that new new new thing, embrace that new new new thing)
Digital vernacular it all sounds the same
Tweet, tweet, link, dig, poke, share, like, ping
(gotta get that new new new thing, embrace that new new new thing)
Omg, brb, gotta get that new new new thing*
If you want to get with the program
And socialize outside the box
With badges of honor, hard work and humor
