In a short series of videos from a "Webby Debate" posted by CNN Money, a cynical Paul Carr of TechCrunch and social media guru Gary Vaynerchuk talk about the "dark side" of social media and whether it's easy to damage a reputation.

"It's also really, really easy now to completely ruin somebody's life with a lie," said Carr, who, in the second clip, talks about his "social shutdown" and why he left Twitter.
