It looks like the New York Senator has a back-up plan in case the presidential thing doesn’t pan out, and Obama rubs salt in her wounds by choosing his own VP. That would temporarily halt the Clinton Restoration. (Chelsea did look mighty good on the trail, didn’t she?)
One gets the impression (or at least I did) that Team Clinton is laying the groundwork for Hillary’s run as Empress of Japan. Why else would HillaryStore.com hawk a full-color 24”x31” poster featuring a noble-looking image of Hillary’s noggin where the sun in Japan’s “Rising Sun Flag” is supposed to be? [The poster is pictured at right with the Rising Sun flag below it.]
This blogger believes the campaign wants to get word out that Clinton is available for royal service and is no slouch when it comes to military force.
The Rising Sun Flag was the ensign of the Imperial Japanese Navy and the war flag of the Imperial Japanese army until Japan’s defeat in WWII. General Douglas MacArthur, head of the Allied Occupation Forces, banned the flag, but it was reinstated in 1954 as the “Self-Defense Flag.”
The U.S. Defense Dept. would like Japan to step up its naval presence in the Pacific to offset the growing military capability of China. The poster shows that Hillary is ready to lead the way to a stronger Japan.
The exclusive poster designed by Hollywood’s Tony Puryer is available for $40 (get `em while they last). And, of course, it is printed with vegetable-based inks by American union workers in a facility powered by the wind. That’s an impressive trifecta.
There is another version of the campaign poster. It has Hillary’s head in front of the stripes of the U.S. flag. That’s just in case Barry implodes before the August convention, forcing Hillary to rethink her Japan plans.
