Cessna corporate communications VP Bob Stangarone has resigned from the aircraft maker with plans to relocate to the East Coast.

He held the top post at Wichita-based Cessna for six years after stints in aircraft sector PR at Rolls-Royce North America, Fairchild Dorner and Litton, among others.

He is a commercial pilot and earlier served as managing editor of Business & Commercial Aviation and Air Facts.

Aviation PR veteran Doug Oliver is director of corporate communications at Cessna, which is owned with units like Bell Heliciopter and Greelee by conglomerate Textron. Oliver told O'Dwyer's he's not yet aware of succession plans for Stangarone.

Aviation Week first reported Stangarone’s exit.
