Keep a close eye on Hillary Clinton tonight as the New York Senator is expected to be in the audience during the debate showdown at Hofstra University.

Let’s see if the former First Lady becomes part of John McCain’s “kitchen sink” strategy of throwing everything he has at Barack Obama. The former First Lady may make join the roster of rogues when when McCain exposes Obama’s nefarious ties to Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, Michael Jordan, Mrs. O’Leary, Mayor Daley, Al Capone, Chicago Cubs and the City of Chicago. Who is this guy Obama, indeed?

The Illinois Senator just has to show up tonight (and not commit any major verbal blunders) to win the debate. That would make it a hat trick for the Illinois Senator. The Diageo|The Hotline poll found that Obama won the first two debates. Forty-two percent of respondents gave Obama the edge in Debate No. 1. A quarter of the respondents voted for McCain with the rest scoring a tie or no winner. More than half (53 percent) gave Obama Round Two. Only 14 percent voted for McCain.

The Diageo|The Hotline poll has Obama beating McCain in the November election by a 49 percent to 41 percent margin. McCain needs to make a blockbuster move tonight to knock Obama off his perch. How about dumping Sarah Palin from the ticket? That could be a game-changer, though reinforce the image of McCain grasping for straws.

Vogue magazine is usually not on this blogger’s “must read” list. The November issue however did catch my eye. It has a piece called “All the Vice President’s Women.” The feature is neither about Lynne, Mary and Elizabeth Cheney nor Bristol, Piper and Willow Palin. Vogue goes out on a small limb, profiling the Biden women. Nicely done.
