Bush predicted it will be a “stirring sight to watch President Obama, his wife, Michelle, and their beautiful girls step though the door of the White House. I know millions of Americans will become overcome with pride at this inspiring moment that so many have awaited so long."
The President promised to keep the President-elect fully informed on important decisions during the transition. Bush will be in office for 76 more days. That is a very long time. The President said he will “continue to conduct the people’s business as long as this office remains in my trust.”
One hopes that Bush takes the results of the election to heart. The people spoke loud and clear. They want change from the past eight years.
America is a vastly different place then it was in 2000 when Bush first assumed office and from '04, when he was re-elected. Here’s to a speedy, quiet and uneventful transition.
