Much has been made about the so-called “Mr. Man” who lent Oprah Winfrey a shoulder to cry on in Chicago’s Grant Park as Sen. Barack Obama made his first remarks as president-elect last week. But also visible in some wire service photos and video feeds of Oprah’s tearful moment is the PR executive who gave up some room on the crowded lawn for the beloved media mogul to squeeze in – MWW Group CEO Michael Kempner.
Kempner raised money and was a strong backer of Sen. Hillary Clinton through the primary season and later joined Obama’s national finance committee over the summer.
"For us political junkies and students of the process, there has also been an incredible, game-changing group of firsts," Kempner blogged on Nov. 3 ahead of the election.
