Illinois has called for PR pitches to tout its economic growth programs for business, a bid to foster job growth and promote the Prairie State as a business destination.

The state released an RFP open through Jan. 25 targeting marketing communications and PR agencies to support state programs through the Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Industry segments like workforce and community development, as well as specific sectors like coal/energy and film are a focus by targeting CEOs and “others who influence business attraction/retention in Illinois,” according to the RFP.

As reported last week, the DCEO is also reviewing Illinois’ multimillion-dollar tourism PR account.
