Allianz Global Assistance USA, the travel insurance giant, has booked M Booth as its agency of record for PR, following a competitive pitch.

AGA, which insures 13M people in the U.S., this month changed its name from Mondial Assistance USA as part of a global “re-branding” slated to be completed in late 2012. Its well-known Access America travel insurance is being renamed Allianz Travel Insurance.

Dan Durazo, director of communications for AGA, said the company liked M Booth’s travel sector experience and “creative programming” for traditional and social media channels, among factors in the decision.

AGA is based in Richmond, Va., employing more than 900 associates. It also markets event ticket insurance, international medical assistance and concierge services.
